The public prosecutor in the trial of Golden Dawn, Adamantia Oikonomou, has provocatively asked for all members of the neo-Nazi party to be acquitted of any involvement in the murder of Pavlos Fyssas by a self-professed party member. She argues that Fyssas’s murderer, Giorgos Roupakias, was acting on his own when he stabbed the musician to death.
Her absurd recommendation aims to acquit the criminal neo-Nazi organization’s leadership.
The prosecutor claims that the party leadership did not give any orders for the attack to be carried out.
Golden Dawn is a criminal organization in every meaning of the term, with a hierarchical structure and military training. Its members were following orders.
For more than a year, plenty of compelling evidence was tabled in court as part of the trial: Photographs, videos, messages that prove the planning of attacks and their cover-up, like the murder of Pavlos Fyssas. Evidence that proves the involvement of the organization’s hit squads in the attacks against Egyptian fishermen and members of the Communist Party-affiliated union, PAME.
The prosecutor has chosen not to see this evidence. We say “No” to Golden Dawn’s acquittal.
We ask for an example to be set with the conviction of the party’s leadership and the hit squads of the Nazi murderers of Golden Dawn.
