Paulino Nuñez was an active member of the Venezuelan anti-debt network, the CADTM (Committee for the Abolition of Illegitimate Debt) and of CADTM-AYNA (Abya Yala/Nuestra America the CADTM Latin America and Caribbean network).
He was an untiring standard bearer, an avid reader, inquirer into the reality of his country and all the popular processes developing in our America and in the World. His sharp comments, as much written, or spoken with his distinctive voice, will remain indelible in our hearts and minds.
CADTM addresses its immense support to his beloved Margarita and other family members and all his friends and companions who have fared with him.
Today it is in great sadness that we lose Paulino’s company, We address to him these words that are so well expressed by Bertold Brecht:
There are men who struggle for a day and they are good;
There are men who struggle for a year and they are better;
There are men who struggle many years, and they are better still;
But there are those who struggle all their lives: These are the indispensable ones.
Hasta la victoria siempre, Dear Paulino !
