Zoe Konstantopoulou to the CADTM network’s Global Assembly Tunis, 26 to 30 April 2016

29 April 2016 by Zoe Konstantopoulou

Dear friends,

It is a pleasure, and indeed an honour, to congratulate you on the occasion of your global assembly in Tunis. The CADTM’s continued presence, its steadfast work to expose and highlight the debt system at the regional, national and global levels, are valuable tools for humankind in our struggle to free peoples from debt slavery.

As we have benefited from the generous support and unstinting contribution of the CADTM and Éric Toussaint both for the setting up and the ongoing work of the Truth Committee on the Greek Public Debt, initiated under the auspices of the Greek Parliament when I was its President, I wish to express my gratitude for all you have done for the Greek people. Our struggle is not over. The Committee has become an Association, which is now harassed by the government. Moreover, since 19 April 2016, a new party called Plefsi Eleftherias (Sail of Freedom) has come into being, with the cancellation of the Greek debt and the continuation of its auditing among its main objectives.

We shall have many more occasions to meet and fight together. And we can be confident that the peoples who fight with will reap deserved victories.

With my warmest greetings and wishes for your Global Assembly and beyond !
