Committee for the Abolition of Illegitimate Debt

The issues of debt and gender are intimately linked, but remain understudied by those working on the subject of debt. Indeed, it is women and girls who are hardest hit by unsustainable debt in the South. To tackle this double issue and to build capacity in CSOs working on debt, the PFDD will organize a webinar on debt and feminism in Africa. This event will touch upon gender issues in Africa, the link with debt and the way African CSOs can take it into account.

The webinar will be divided into three parts:

What is a pan-African approach to feminism?
Feminism and debt: what are the links and how can we work on them?
How can African CSOs take gender aspects into account in their structure and work?
