Reparations, Debt and Climate Justice

In part one, organised by Global Justice Now, international experts and campaigners will share Share A unit of ownership interest in a corporation or financial asset, representing one part of the total capital stock. Its owner (a shareholder) is entitled to receive an equal distribution of any profits distributed (a dividend) and to attend shareholder meetings. their critiques of how the global debt system prevents climate action and why debt cancellation and climate debt repayments are needed to achieve climate justice. Part two will consist of a panel discussion by activists from Fridays for Future Most Affected People and Areas (FFF MAPA), hosted by FFF MAPA and the Transnational Accountability & Justice Initiative, and will, in emphasising the relationship between the violent colonial pursuits of the Global North and the climate crisis, contextualize climate reparations and confront the way that the Global North routinely uses climate reparations as a form of business and a means to gain profit Profit The positive gain yielded from a company’s activity. Net profit is profit after tax. Distributable profit is the part of the net profit which can be distributed to the shareholders. .
