On 15 June 2023, a ship carrying several hundred migrants sank in the terrible graveyard that the Mediterranean has become. Almost all the passengers died. Although it was possible to save them from drowning, the authorities deliberately allowed them to perish at sea. A few days later, every conceivable means is used to search for a small private submarine containing 5 people, including a company director and two rich men who had each paid 250,000 dollars to descend to the seabed to see the wreck of the Titanic. The major media, which had failed to play their part in alerting the public and putting pressure on the authorities while hundreds of passengers in distress were sending out text messages calling for help, rushed to the rescue in real time with information about the search for 5 people off the coast of Canada. Planes, boats, satellites and submarines are being mobilised to save the lives of 5 people who belong to or work for the “elite”. The major media are covering the story from hour to hour, keeping the public on its toes. Journalists and photographers are sent or mobilised nearby.

Double standards must come to an end. People in distress must be helped without hesitation and without wasting time. Doing nothing is a crime. We must denounce as loudly as possible the inhumane migration policies of the governments of the countries of the North. We must guarantee the right of asylum. We must guarantee people’s right to freedom of movement.
